Friends of Wyre Forest School

Friends of Wyre Forest School organises fundraising events throughout the year for the school community to enjoy.

A little bit about Friends of Wyre Forest School . . .

We are a friendly group of parents and carers, whose aim is to raise money via setting up events such as Christmas and Summer Fairs, and enable pupils at the school to take part in opportunities to choose and wrap Christmas, Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day gifts. All money raised is redistributed into the school via requests from staff. In the past we have contributed to buying bicycles and bike equipment, and an all-weather gazebo for outside lessons, among other things. We meet a couple of times a term, and although Covid-19 has put a stop to events for the time being, we will meet on Zoom and discuss how to spend the money already raised. Most of our current Committee members have children in the Upper School, so we are keen to meet anyone who would like to join us, especially those with younger children.
You can contact us via the school office.

Fundraising so Far

The Friends of Wyre Forest School have held several exciting events to raise money, all of which have been a huge success! We have contributed to the amazing bike track at WFS, purchased the bikes to go onto the track, paid for a new cover for the forest school teepee and also a new outdoor learning gazebo!

More recently, we donated £100 to Russell House with which they were able to purchase new outdoor equipment. The students chose a wide range of equipment including a darts board, swing ball, racing tracks, hula hoops, footballs and much more.

Get Involved

Every parent/carer of a child at Wyre Forest School is automatically a member of the Friends group and all support is gratefully received whether it be donations, coming along to events or lending a hand. If you are free, why not come to one of our meetings. These are usually held half termly on a Wednesday at 1.30pm at Russell House. We are a friendly bunch so do not worry if you do not already know other helpers, everyone will be made very welcome (with hot drinks and biscuits) - just turn up on the day!

AGM

Friends of Wyre Forest School are holding their AGM on Wednesday 2nd March at 9.30am at Russell House. Everyone is welcome to attend.
