Amazing – well done everyone
Before the Easter holidays Beech and Hazel class were set the task to create ‘something’ from a polystyrene egg. They created an ‘eggcellent’ sheep using cotton wool, glitter and lots of glue! We entered the egg into the School and Youth Group Easter Egg Decorating Competition with the West Midlands Safari Park and came 2nd! They had over 80 eggs enter the competition which are on display in the Discovery Trail at the Safari Park.
The children have won a 'Creatures in Your Classroom' experience which will take place on Thursday 21st April.
“DIG FOR VICTORY” FRIDAY’S IN 7P.
On Friday mornings 7P will be digging, weeding and planting outside in the gardening area. We are thinking about the Land Army during the war, when everyone had to help to grow food. We will be using home grown produce to cook some healthy meals.
Key Stage 3 Design Technology
Following the delivery of our new CAD/CAM equipment we have spared no time in implementing some fantastic projects across Key Stage 3, all of which have been really well received by pupils.
7P have been using 2d design (our computer design package) to produce some Easter egg packaging.
Our Year 9 groups have been using the new engraver/router to custom design a plastic top for a pencil box. They have then learnt about different wood joints and then used these new skills to construct their pencil box.
Both pupils and staff have been really impressed with the outcomes from these projects and we are looking forward to exploring and developing new and exciting CAD/CAM projects in the future!
