Dance Festival

Students from Years 8, 9 & 10 took part in a Dance Festival at the Atrix Theatre in Bromsgrove on Tuesday evening. The students were selected to perform from a huge sample of schools across the county. The event organisers were so impressed with their audition piece that the girls got to end the show. Well Done Dancers!

8F and Baxter College

8F have been working with a Year 10 Drama group from Baxter College this half term.  It has been an amazing achievement for both schools and the pupils have made us so proud with their attitude and commitment to the project.  Next week we will be putting on a showcase at Baxter College to show our friends, parents and carers just how well we have done.

Well Done 8F you are superstars!!

Transition Success

Transition day was a success again across the school! On Wednesday 6th July, 10TB, soon to be 11B, have been playing team-building games, as part of their transition morning. We would like to welcome to the class Daniel, who has made a positive and enthusiastic contribution to the games!

Message from the school nurse…

Please remember that all medications in school are sent home on the last day of term with the child by the school nurse.  Most children with meds are on transport, but if they go home by themselves, parents/carers will have to ensure it is safe for the child to carry their own medicines.  I will receive all medications to be given next term on the first day back in September but parents have to send in a new consent to medication.

Teacher Weekly Award

Staff can award pupils exceptional points for behaviour/work/social skills or just being lovely!  This weeks award goes to both Bradley  (8H) and Holly  (13D).

GCSE Catering

It's been a great week for the GCSE catering students who have now completed their second exam practical, as you can see from the pictures, the profiteroles with home made chocolate sauce, fresh strawberry cheesecake and chocolate brownies with crystallised rose petals, to name just 3 of the 6 desserts that were so lovingly produced, were all outstanding. Well done to all of the students who are really excelling, and the brownie I was treated to was just delicious!
The Year 8's are investigating "our senses" at the moment, and have been thinking about how we associate different colours with certain flavours, it was fun to get the class tasting jelly that was the wrong colour and "weirddoughs" which are doughnuts with a different frosting colour to the flavour! We really had to concentrate on the taste rather than the look.
We are looking forward to making strawberries and cream cheesecake jars next week, using local strawberries which are just coming into season. Watch this space for photos of our creations.

13P Residential

Last week we all went to the Wingate Centre and a good time was had by all. We had a day trip to Llandudno and the weather stayed dry (unlike the poor 11S group previously!).
