Russell House opened in September 2014 and offers term time weekly boarding for up to sixteen pupils from Wyre Forest School.

Pupils at Russell House have access to a range of activities which can enhance their life experiences. Although not all activities are compulsory, pupils are encouraged to try new activities that may link with their educational needs and/or promote healthy living.

Fun offsite activities include: swimming, bowling, walks, visits to local parks and the West Midlands Safari Park. In addition to these, educational/social experiences such as shopping, eating out and accessing local clubs are also promoted. If pupils struggle to access the community normally, this can be an area that forms part of their long term goals and can be an area of focus for termly targets. In addition, there are many activities both in Russell House and the main school campus that pupils have access to. These include: sensory rooms, onsite cinema room, WiiU games console, board games, art and craft, pedal go-carts and scooters, table tennis, fitness suite, therapy pool, etc.

Children and young people experience and develop interests in a wide range of leisure and learning activities. These increase their skills in communication, coordination, socialisation, and independence.
